Our journey began in the heart of Kerala, nestled in the serene town of Ottapalam, Palakkad district, where our beloved grandfather, A.K. Nedungadi, managed the ancestral properties of his family’s Tharavaad with great care and dedication. It was the year 1947, and life for him was humble, with just a meager salary of 5 rupees from the family estate. His days were spent managing the land and overseeing the family’s affairs, never imagining that destiny had grander plans.

It was during this time that a pivotal moment in our family’s history occurred. P.M. Varier, the first managing trustee of Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala, saw in A.K. Nedungadi a potential partner. With unwavering belief, Varier approached our grandfather, asking if he would be interested in starting a business of his own with Ayurvedic products. Initially, our grandfather was hesitant. He had never envisioned himself as a businessman and was content with his simple life. But Varier’s confidence in him was contagious. He knew that A.K. Nedungadi, with his integrity, work ethic, and deep ties to the community, was the perfect person to represent the Ayurvedic brand’s values.

In 1947, with encouragement from Warrier and a heart full of hope, our grandfather took the leap of faith and opened our first Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala outlet in Ottapalam.
The trust of the people, combined with his dedication, quickly turned this humble venture into a resounding success. Just a year later, in 1948, we expanded to Perinthalmanna, and by 1956, the business had grown to Kannur as well. The brand’s reputation for authenticity and quality Ayurvedic products spread far and wide, and A.K. Nedungadi became a trusted name in the field.

After his passing, the legacy was carried forward by his grandson, Mr. Sivakumar Ayyampully, who took over the reins with the same commitment and passion. Under his leadership, our family business reached new heights, including the opening of a store in Eranjipalam, Calicut. Today, we proudly continue to serve generations of customers across Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kannur districts, offering the finest Ayurvedic products rooted in tradition and trust.
